To the Point: Interview With Dave Perillo, aka Montygog

Dave Perillo a.k.a Montygog is an illustrator whose interest in drawing and illustration was built up at a very young age. For 13 years he has worked as an illustrator. He believes that Art doesn't have to be serous, we can just play around with it. Any crazy idea can turn out to be an artwork. He studies art and was also self-taught. He graduated college with BA in Graphic Design. His creative process is quite simple, sometimes he will simply do sketches, scan them in, and work off those on computer and sometimes he will just jump right into it on the computer. For creating his work he uses Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. His first solo show was at Galary 1988 called "Square 4 Square". He has worked with Disney, Target, Breaking Bad, Ghost busters, Adventure Time, Star Wars etc. His advice for emerging illustrators are that "Keep creating. If you love it and have a passion for it, just keep doing it. Also, I believe it's extremely important to develop your own style/"thing". Quite honestly I don't like his artworks because they are just simply too boring and not good looking characters but I like his statement that keep creating no matter what happens and do what you love.
